Four pillars of an effective Pre-K through grade 12 education.
Dexter was founded in 2018 by a group of engineers, and named after the word Dexterity, which means readiness and grace in physical and mental activity. Dexter started as an after-school and summer program to promote STEM learning. Our camps centered around intensifying the learning experience for students who are interested in STEM. In 2018, our first cohort of 20 students (grades 3-10) began in the historic "Big Blue" building in downtown Wichita Falls. In 2021, we acquired the campus we currently use. Through much staff dedication and hard work, we have risen to a student population of about 130 on-campus students and received accreditation to offer high school diplomas to graduating students.
Our mission is to help students realize their full potential by developing strong academic foundations.
Our vision is a global network of private schools that help young people thrive.

Dexter aligns with TEKS standards, and we follow the Core Knowledge Curriculum Series™, which provides comprehensive, content-rich learning materials based on the Core Knowledge Sequence. The Core Knowledge Sequence is a detailed outline of recommended content knowledge and skills to be taught in language arts, history and geography, visual arts, music, mathematics, and science. The Sequence complements the general skills and objectives typically found in state and local curriculum guides, along with knowledge-based learning. Knowledge-based schooling puts the emphasis of early education on teaching and learning an enabling core of broadly shared knowledge—enabling because it builds strong foundations for later learning and opens doors to effective participation and mutual understanding in the wider society.
Currently, we do not offer sports. We are looking to implement a tennis and cross country program next school year. At this time, we do offer athletics such as Yoga, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Dance, and Competitive Dodgeball.
All of our electives focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics). Our Fall 2022 electives include, but are not limited to: VEX Robotics, Egyptology, Computer Science Applications, Creative Writing, Forensic Science, Theater, and Math Counts.

Admissions at Dexter is open year-round. We offer enrollment as space is available, but we do things a little differently. We believe that a safe and productive environment for students is the starting point for a great educational experience. This informs our admissions process. We also believe that your children should have the opportunity to give Dexter a try, so we offer something that other schools do not, we offer a "Shadow Day".
Campus Tour - schedule a tour with us, come in and we will take you on a tour guided by our Principal to see if Dexter is a good fit for your family. You will see the halls of Dexter, the auditorium, cafeteria, playground, sanctuary and campus grounds where the students learn, grow and play. You will meet some of our team and obtain more information.
Shadow Day - your student will be invited to live a day in the life as a Dexter student. They’ll be scheduled to come in and partnered with a student buddy for a day, go to class and meet new friends. Along the way our educators will evaluate how they treat others around them as well as how they perform in a classroom setting. Are they kind? Are they respectful? Are they passionate about learning?
Enrollment Decision - The Campus Administrators will review your student’s shadow day evaluations to determine if they will receive an invitation to enroll. Our primary responsibility is to ensure that every new Dexter student will be a productive and kind member of our school community. You will be notified by email if your student is invited to enroll.

At this time, we do not have tuition assistance available. We have recently created the Dexter Foundation, which will soon allow us to offer tuition assistance programs and scholarships.
Dexter recently successfully coordinated with the Edward Charles Foundation to create the Dexter Foundation. You can see more about it at the following URL: www.every.org/dex
This will primarily affect two significant areas of campus operations:
First, we are now able to accept tax-deductible donations for improvement projects like the West Wing, Sanctuary, outdoor spaces, and traffic/parking flow. We are very excited about what this means for our campus, students and families.
Second, the Dexter Foundation will be used to build a tuition assistance and scholarship fund. This second aspect has the potential to most directly affect our families by allowing us to assist families with tuition costs.
It's kindness, it is magic, it is education, it is change. This has been one of the biggest gifts of our last four years.
Dexter is accredited through Cognia with NCA CASI, NWAC and SACS CASI; and is recognized by the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC); and therefore recognized with the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
Dexter does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship or loan programs, or any athletic or other school-administered programs.
